At South Haven Creations – about four minutes from the beach of Lake Michigan – Mandy and Dave had a sweet, fun, and timeless wedding event. In their words, “We had a perfect day! We laughed, cried, and most importantly had a day full of love! Thanks to all of our vendors, friends and family for helping us with our day! Special thanks to Angela and Pam for helping us keep to our timeline and getting everything we wanted to fit in our busy day!!”

Awww! Thanks, Mandy! It was amazing being part of your day!

Such stunning details, with a gentle mauve, rose, and navy color palette; Mandy and her bridesmaids got ready in the room provided by South Haven Creations. I will always recommend a “getting ready” room onsite. You’ll save time and money (photographers and videographers need fewer on-site hours if we aren’t traveling from location to location the day-of).

Since Dave wanted the walk down the aisle to be his first sight of his new wife, we were able to step outside for a moment to get a few photos of Mandy and her girls while Dave popped back to the Airbnb for his final details.

It was a warm, bright, sunny day. Not a cloud in the sky. While I perhaps would have preferred a few clouds to gentle the light, I can respect that this scene perfectly represents a late summer wedding. Their anniversaries going forward are always likely to feel like this day, and I’m always happy to work in any light scenario – since that’s part of the joy and the challenge of live events.

I’ll always try to put a few of your parents in the sneak-peak gallery too. I know that, next to yourselves, your nearest family members are the most likely to be invested in the outcome of the photos. Mom might want to update her social media page too!

And look at that amazing tree! It’s just growing that way out near the ceremony site. What a gorgeous backdrop!

Okay – storytime… Mandy and Dave rescue dogs. They’ve rescued so many doggos throughout the years that they used their photos as table decor and named the tables in their honor! This was a dog-lover’s wedding for sure!

Dinner was a wonderful assortment of comfort food with lots of toppings to dress things up and dessert was cupcakes with a fun blueberry cobbler. It had such a beautiful home-cooked vibe.

I love these elegant golden ceiling globes. What a fun chandelier alternative! The formal dances went perfectly, and after, we ran away for a bit (just FOUR minutes down the road) to find a secluded beach for romance portraits during blue hour.
