Those who know me know I love a challenge! So when Josh and Julie told me they’d like a highlight video created from their wedding event – which was to be a full Catholic Mass – I was ecstatic! I am born into the Catholic faith and continue to honor marriage as both an institution and a sacrament. Transforming wedding-day emotions is always an honor, but in the most solemn of church events, we aren’t always invited in. (Or sometimes we might be relegated to the back or upper balcony to preserve the mystery and guarantee a distraction-free event). Thankfully, this priest rocked as you will see! He has an incredible sense of humor, an open and easy-going air, and a blend of gravity and levity that was forever endearing!
The morning (for me) began with our bride during the getting ready hours at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Kalamazoo. Julie had already been to the salon for her hair, but her makeup was still in progress and details were laid out and ready!
Zac was with the guys very near at Gull Run, where the groomsmen were getting ready at home.
Josh was not to see Julie before she walked down the aisle, so he had some quiet moments to himself to read her letter and prepare for the ceremony.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, we left St Ambrose Catholic Church to take pictures at Spring Valley park, a hidden gem behind Borgess Hospital.
From there, it was on to the party at Four Points Sheraton Hotel!
…and at the end of the night, a fun sparkler send off in the dark!
Special thanks to the rest of my team! Along with me (Angela) and my husband (Zac), we borrowed Laura Munro of Munro Photography and Colin Nokomis of Captured Media!
DJ Monte Janssen from Wiser Productions rocked the night as well!
UPDATE: Julie and Josh’s video production is complete!
