Ready for a fairy tale? Kid-you-not, this bride (who’s literally named Jasmine) channelled Disney Princess – All. Night. Long.
Adore!
All bridal prep happened at the Kalamazoo Country Club. The spacious accommodations are a dream to work in! Hair and makeup was perfectly executed by a team from “Flawless Beauty by Debra“. Debra and her girls live up to their reputation every single time I work with them!
We had time for some fun bridal party portraits, taken in the shelter of the covered patio since it was just a little misty. Jasmine and her groom, Stuart, opted for a private “first look” and some romantic portraits before their traditional ceremony at First United Methodist church in Downtown Kalamazoo. Since Jasmine had already spent some time as a model, and both were lovers of performing arts, it was not hard to make these two look amazing!
The party moved back to the Country Club for a wonderful dinner, fun speeches and lively dancing. DJ’d and MC’d by Scott “The Hurricane” Herriman of Wiser Productions. He absolutely NEVER runs out of energy! Both sets of parents looked amazing as well! I love how well the mom’s dresses color coordinate!
Our closing images (outdoor night romance portraits) were a blast to create! Heather is a lighting genius, and I adore working with her in the dark. (She is a phenomenal Lansing Pro wedding photographer and you can find all her work here: http://www.heatherkan.com). We had a couple little wireless speed lights behind Jasmine and Stuart, and a large softbox, high and on the left. This type of art is so satisfying. Wedding days are once-in-a-lifetime events, and you’ll never feel exactly that kind of special ever again. If I can snag a few minutes to create a showpiece memory we all win! Congratulations friends! May your whole lives be as romantic as this night!
