I am in love with everything about this wedding – and in awe of the stunning amount of effort it took to create! Alexandra and Jordan spent painstaking hours handcrafting these details. As one stunned guest remarked, it made the wedding not homemade, but “hand made”.
The bride spent the evening before her wedding with her closest girlfriends at the fabulous Muy Grande Ranch Resort where there was ample space to get ready! Downstairs there was even a small salon for Alexandra’s makeup artist to work!
And the guys at Muy are so fabulous, they put a nail in their own ceiling walls so that I could hang the dress in this perfect alcove!
The shoes, I nestled in the warm and cozy wine room.
Our bride wanted to wait for the main event before her groom saw her that day, but she was definitely looking forward to some time to connect with him. The only problem was that the guys were ready to leave for the ceremony venue before she was even dressed! Since we had time limits to work within, I told Alexandra to meet Jordan for a quick connect anyway. The resulting images are poignant moments of faith and love.
The ceremony and reception were hosted at the same private location. Jordan’s whole family worked together to create the landscape for the details our bride spent such care on! The grounds were perfectly manicured.
After the ceremony, we traveled to a few preselected, secluded areas for our romance session. Including…. Lake Huron! Yay!
They wanted to run away together. I thought that it was an excellent idea! (LOVE the bare feet on our bride!)
And Rachel, my awesome second shooter and backup photographer for the day, saw some incredible romance potential in the cement walls of the barn’s lower level. Aren’t they just super-model lovely?!
Really, this wedding was a photographer’s dream… because they also led us to this absolutely perfect field of wild grasses!
Only something as amazing as Lake Huron could top that!
Thanks again to Rachel, with her gift for creative posing. The image above and the image below were both set up and directed by her (as were so many others). I stand in awe of her talented imagination and love having her with me!
We returned to our ceremony venue for the reception; where all the pretty details Jordan and Alexandra had been dreaming of, were finally in perfect place. The delightful assortment of cakes was created by Bert’s Bakery in Kalamazoo, MI and carefully transported!
Their first dance was full of love and tender emotion.
We photographed until dusk, and had the pleasure of seeing all the lights come on.
What a lovely venue – all the more special because it is family owned land. Thank you so much, Jordan and Alexandra for trusting me to photograph this magical, intimate wedding!
