Hooray for beautiful venues, and adoring men in love! The way this man looks at his bride will lift your heart on a cloudy day. She is cherished, and he is in awe. True nobility shines when a man falls in love like this!
The gorgeous wedding event was held at the lovely Gull Lake Country Club in Gull Lake, MI. Gull Lake’s rich history of hosting fabulous celebrations allowed Colene to honor her parents by hosting a reception in the very same ball room that mom and dad had their first dance 34 years before! How sweet is that?!
The bridal prep area is a lovely authentic wood locker room, with warm tones that set off the rich bridal colors Colene chose for her late summer nuptials.
Colene and Travis opted for a “first look”. We found a spectacular hill with a tiny path for their reveal. Perfect!
After the bride and groom had a chance to connect, we were ready to create the fun bridal party scenes! I’m so in love with the embroidered date on the hem of Colene’s gown. A million thanks to my assistant, Kala Willette for capturing that! She also snapped the fun bridesmaids’ arm-in-arm from behind image too. It’s such a blessing to have a second pair of eyes, with a separate creative vision about. I love working in duo’s and teams!
And this little guy (what a cutie!) came to join the fun! He was a little shy at first, so we had to warm him up to the camera by letting him take a few pictures too. The ring box is one of the D.I.Y. details of this wedding. Look how proud it makes this young gentleman to carry something so precious!
We had time for a few bridal portraits, and I’m so glad! Nothing is more stunning than a bride on her wedding day!
Then on to the “I do’s”!
After a quick boat ride, they were back for dinner and dancing! Again… look at the fun D.I.Y. projects! I love the Mr and Mrs blocks. …and the FISHES! Oh, goodness! The FISHES!!!
These last few are known as “romance portraits”. I absolutely love creating a few moments of privacy to capture images of your love after night fall. It’s absolutely gorgeous, perfectly romantic, and I find brides and grooms are far more comfortable being intimate at the end of the day when the pressures are off and the sweetness of their choice has become perfectly real. It’s a magic opportunity.
