Oh, the details and “little moments” of this wedding… just spectacular! For Brides and Grooms to be looking for inspiration, Sara and Tony’s event ranks high in creativity and style. Every wedding has a “win”. Sara and Tony (and Sara’s magical mom!) won best “D.I.Y. wedding details” for 2012 hands down! Everything was gorgeous!
- Start with an awesome location. The Lawton Heritage Community Center is a Museum, Wine Cellar, and Wedding Venue very near the vineyards that dot South West Michigan. It is lovely, affordable, accommodating, and run by friendly people.
- Add a phenomenal florist… flowers by Dorthy’s Floral Studio. (And truly, I did not see more impressive results all year… these flowers were elegant, fresh, long lasting, perfectly arranged, and came with all the necessary pins and ribbons).
- Then order the most gorgeous cakes of the season created by MacKenzies Bakery (and add your own super-creative cake toppers).
- And finish with a magically talented D.I.Y. mother-of-the-bride. She literally hand crafted the signs, the centerpieces (dried hydrangeas preserved in glycerine), the menu board, the cake toppers, a bird cage bridal wishes station, the flower girls’ headpiece… and any other detail you can find in this images that has that precious stamp of “hand made” on it. Love, love, love… the time and energy this mama gave her lovely daughter!
The getting ready time was full of magic as well. Tony was sweet enough to surprise his bride-to-be with roses on their wedding day (delivered by the maid of honor), and Sara had prepared a super-cute wedding day box of celebration cigars for the men. They still hadn’t seen each other yet!
